The Southborough Library is continuing to hold its Facebook Live storytime events for children.* This week marks a shift from the spring schedule to the new summer schedule.

This week's virtual storytime booksThe story times will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays (instead of Fridays). They are also shifting to 10:30 am (instead of 10:00 am). That began this morning.

While it may be fun to view “Miss Kim” live, it’s not a requirement. The videos will remain up on the Library’s Facebook page to view later, or watch again. In fact, you can click here to watch the 28 storytimes that Children’s Librarian Kim Ivers previously recorded for kids over the past 3 months.

Not all entertainment is virtual. Stay tuned for details on a special Hide and Seek program next Wednesday, July 8th.

Families have already been signing up for Summer Reading (from Facebook)As promised, the Summer Reading program kicked into full swing last week. (Don’t forget to sign up.)

Activity packets and other materials are available for pickup at a special table each week. Yesterday, the Library added envelopes of supplies for the week’s “Take It and Make It” craft.

Curbside pickup (from Facebook)If you make arrangements in advance, you can also make a curbside pickup of books and/or other library materials while you’re there.

From home, kids are encouraged to take part in weekly challenges and share photos of results. (This week’s challenge is Baking & Cooking.)

*Note: You don’t have to have a Facebook account to watch the Library’s public videos on Facebook.

Updated (6/30/20 2:21 pm): I just heard back from the Library about what schedule people can expect the summer reading table to be available.

The general schedule is weekdays from 10:00 am – 4:30 pm. This week, it won’t be available on Friday, due to the federal holiday.
